LOU GRAMM HELPS ANN WILSON FIND OUT WHAT SHE'S HAVING 'RISING SUSPICION' ABOUT

Most post-1980 HEART doesn't do a lot for me actually, the veteran canadian soft rock band, led by sisters ANNE and NANCY WILSON, had a lot going for it in the 70`s when they were bordering on folk rock, profoundly influenced by LED ZEPPELIN, even tutored and mentored by the Zep's bass guitarist JOHN PAUL JONES. If memory serves me correctly, i think JOHN PAUL JONES might have even played as a session musician on some of Heart's 1970`s recordings. But in the 80`s, HEART never quite nailed a consistent formula, usually the songs were too airbrushed when they should have rocked out more, or too loud and multi-layered when in fact many songs would have sounded better if they were given the acoustic treatment which HEART was very good at during the 70`s. Around 1993, HEART recorded their first studio album for the 90`s with DESIRE WALKS ON, the power rock ballad WILL YOU BE THERE (IN THE MORNING) is one the best of all time, despite only reaching No. 39 in the Billboard 100 chart. In those days CD singles were still getting around, the B-side to WILL YOU BE THERE (IN THE MORNING) was this totally forgotten about duet between ANN WILSON and then FOREIGNER lead singer LOU GRAMM. It wasn't one of Gramm's best efforts, he seems to intentionally keep a low profile, preferring to let Wilson take centre stage. Not sure if Nancy Wilson or Mick Jones from Foreigner is playing guitar here, it could be Jones, the song is co-written by him and Gramm. Not brilliant but not bad. I dont believe it was released under the Heart banner, i think it's officially a solo Anne Wilson song.

  1. Hello Mick Jones does play on this as does Howard Leese. They of course are both co songwriters of this. This info came firsthand from Howard. This does not sound like Lou at all, but Howard also confirmed it is Lou.
