WHOEVER DEVISED THE VIDEO CLIP FOR 'HE LIKED TO FEEL IT' BY THE CRASH TEST DUMMIES WAS DEFINITELY ON DRUGS

If the HUNTERS AND COLLECTORS song THE SLAB is musically one of the most bizarre listens you will find, i wrote a blog about it a couple of nights ago, then i'm sure you will agree after you watch this You Tube video that the video clip for the CRASH TEST DUMMIES song HE LIKED TO FEEL IT, off the 1996 album A WORMS LIFE, is the most weird and wacky one ever devised. The Crash Test Dummies were always an eccentric bunch of alternative folk rockers, hailing from Canada the band were at their melodic mainstream best for their breakthrough 1993 album GOD SHUFFLED HIS FEET, which featured three really unique and great alternative rock songs - AFTERNOONS AND COFFEESPOONS, Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm and SUPERMAN SONG. Personally i would have sooner featured any one of those three songs on here instead of HE LIKED TO FEEL IT, but i didn't figure they qualified as a lost treasure. Millions have watched those songs on You Tube. The CRASH TEST DUMMIES simply got too experimental for their own good following the huge worldwide success of GOD SHUFFLED HIS FEET and seemed to intentionally follow a path down a road to minority appeal status. The band is still going in 2012, albeit with a much more pronounced folk orientation. The CRASH TEST DUMMIES have never come close to matching the originality and commercial sensibility of GOD SHUFFLED HIS FEET with any of their follow-up releases over the years. HE LIKED TO FEEL IT is probaly the closest the band ever come on another album to re-capturing some of the effortless groove featuring on GOD SHUFFLED HIS FEET, it starts off promising, but by the end of it you cant help but think it lacks some grunt. Yeah, and this video clip, man it's wacko stuff. Doesn't make one iota of sense, it involves some self mutilation on the part of a street kid who volunteers to get pulled around a big north american city, not sure which one, literally by his teeth, with the help of metal wire, a taxi, an excavator and i think a german shepherd. Whoever devised the production of this video clip was definitely on drugs.
