EDDIE VAN HALEN WAS ON FIRE AND DAVID LEE ROTH WAS SCREAMING

I love the old Van Halen, especially the debut album in 1978, i could write a blog about that album in its entirety but i think i've already done that. But off the cuff here and now, i thought i would at least throw one song off this heavy rock masterpiece , to me the best hard rock album ever recorded, onto Lost Treasures. Despite it becoming a cult classic and eventual platinum seller, VAN HALEN 1 still has a few songs lurking on side 2 that have never rated much of a mention. It may seem like a strange choice, but LITTLE DREAMER is probaly my favourite Eddie Van Halen riff of all time, it is in fact one of the more workmanlike performances by EVH on an album overflowing with unstructured guitar excess to the max. I wont mention a couple of others, because i might need them to write another blog sometime (laugh), but track 11, ON FIRE, is the quinessential example of early Van Halen heavy rock guitar madness. It never fails to get this 37 year old teenager pumped up, and i always have a laugh when i hear David Lee Roth's scream half way through the song. This scream is the best scream ever to make it onto a record.
