ROSS WILSON WAS INSANE ON THE `DARK SIDE OF THE MAN' VIDEO
This is one of the best aussie rock songs of all time, and here it is in all its unrefined mono glory, courtesy of the vinyl origin of this Tube You video. ROSS WILSON hails from the bands DADDY COOL and MONDO ROCK, but in 1989 he went out on a solo outing for the album DARK SIDE OF THE MAN. The only song off the album that caught on with a wider audience was the biting reverse psychology power rock ballad BED OF NAILS. The opening track is even more biting and angst ridden, obviously Wilson wrote this nasty and ferocious melodic rocker after going through some negative real life experience of betrayal. It is the title track, sorry that the video cuts short at the end, but i thought it was worth a posting for the video footage alone. Wilson is going absolutely bananas and schizo in the video, he is depicted as being an abstract artist who creates a painting symbolising his cheating woman and the man who stole his thunder. While he is still creating this painting he takes what looks to be a shanghai and takes aim at the painting with a sharp object. Needless to say he hits the bullseye and lands it right on the head of the guy who has been jumping bones with his lady. ROSS WILSON in this video looks like he is on the edge of insanity as much as MEL GIBSON was in LETHAL WEAPON. I am in no doubt that ROSS WILSON could have played the part of Martin Riggs in Lethal Weapon had Mel Gibson not done so. ROSS WILSON was a real lethal weapon, a walking timebomb.
