ZERO THE HERO IS REALLY CREEPY 80`S HEAVY METAL DUDE

TONY IOMMI and IAN GILLAN will probaly hate me for doing this (laugh). I think the BLACK SABBATH album BORN AGAIN from 1983 is probaly a musical misadventure they would sooner forget all about. It would have to be one of the most disjointed albums ever recorded in the history of heavy metal.

It always was going to be an unwieldy musical chemistry, the then former ex-singer in DEEP PURPLE Ian Gillan, who was more of an old blueser than a black metal screamer, paired up alongside the master of metal guitar doom himself, Tony Iommi.

Following the sacking of the second Sabbath singer RONNIE JAMES DIO, who had replaced Ozzie Osbourne in 1980 and would rejoin the band briefly in the early 90`s, Iommi needed a singer, and he must have been desperate, because he made a mistake by chasing Gillan for the job.

Gillan erred by accepting the offer to join BLACK SABBATH to record the BORN AGAIN album, one listen to the album and you just know these guys just didn't gel together. Of the 8 songs, one is actually okay, really dark, really creepy sounding, as one You Tube commenter has said, the kind of song you would hear at a vampire stripclub. Remind me to not go near one of them okay (laugh).

Here it is, the song is called ZERO THE HERO, besides a vampire stripclub i get visions of really cheap and nasty early 80`s horror movies when i hear it. Dont be scared now, have a listen to it and watch out for any shadows outside your window tonight.
