ALY COOK GIVES SOME COUNTRY MUSIC ADVICE ON HOW TO SPEND IT

ALY COOK is both a rich and distinctive country music talent, the award winning New Zealand artist, who hails from the town of NELSON, has garnered a lot of critical respect in the wake of her breakthrough 2011 album, BRAND NEW DAY, which was partially recorded in Nashville. Her loose and detached vocal style and intentionally freewheeling approach to playing guitar, is a lot diffrent to the workmanlike approach taken by practitioners of barroom country rock in america and most of the pub rock influenced country music that 'passes' as country in Australia. Aly tends more towards folk than rock, BRAND NEW DAY has sold well in New Zealand and satisfactorily in Australia too, her biggest commercial success to date being the single COUNTRY STORM, which i would rate as the most traditional sounding country song on BRAND NEW DAY. The title track and the song SPEND IT are the two other standout tracks. SPEND IT was the first single released off BRAND NEW DAY, the lyrics contain a witty and satirical message to live it up and dont hoard your money up for anybody. Aly is an independent artist who relies on a little help from her friends and fans to fund her recordings. You can find out more about Aly by visiting her website http://www.alycook.com
