FREDDY KRUEGER ENTERED THE REAL WORLD OF WES CRAVEN'S NEW NIGHTMARE

A horror movie has got to be one thing if it's going to stand the test of time and become a timeless classic - original. As far as slasher and werewolf movies go, most are copycat takes on other movies or at least lend heavily on themes in other movies for their plot. The plot with horror movies is usually tiresomely predictable, only the screenplay and their adaptation from novels to the big screen makes them interesting and on occasions entertaining to watch, the acting is not normally the kind which would make a Hollywood talent agent go woah, can this guy or girl act or what (laugh). But one horror movie makes the grade with me as far as being wholly original and something refreshingly diffrent from the standard and oft times boring slasher theme horror movie, although i must say there was nothing refreshing ever about FREDDY KRUEGER, one of the most dispicable and downright fugly horror movie characters in the history of cinema. What makes the 1994 movie WES CRAVEN'S NEW NIGHTMARE very diffrent from any other horror movie, including the six 'standard' ELM STREET movies before it which starred ROBERT EUGLAND as the son of a thousand bastards FREDDY KRUEGER, is that Freddy invades the real world for this movie, no longer is he trapped in the dream world, and he comes back to haunt the actual actors and crew responsible for making the first six 'fictitious' A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET movies. It's a ridiculous premise which director WES CRAVEN somehow or another turned into one of the most eery and bone chilling slasher movies ever made. HEATHER LANGENKAMP starred as NANCY THOMPSON in the first six ELM STREET movies, but in this movie, HEATHER LANGENKAMP plays HEATHER LANGENKAMP. Freaky stuff Heather. WES CRAVEN stars as himself too, and it's also common knowledge in Hollywood, and i didn't slag this off Wikipedia by the way, that CRAVEN wanted JOHNNY DEPP to star as himself in the movie, but he wimped out and got cold feet. Depp after the event said he would have accepted the role. Seeing that Freddy invaded the real world in this movie, if Depp would have starred in it, it's likely he would have died in 1994 when the movie was made. I dont think Depp would have gotten away from Freddy alive. Check out this video sideshow as well of still shots in the movie, i cant take credit for it, Pete somebody was the guy who put it together, but it's really great amateur film editing, with excellent sound to go with it. After the movie has ended you actually are thinking - holy shit! , Freddy Krueger is real afterall.
