L.A INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT SCORED SUSAN RAYE A CROSSOVER HIT

The 1971 SUSAN RAYE crossover hit L.A INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT has got a mention before on Lost Treasures, but here is the video clip to go with it. By her own design, Raye vanished off the music scene in the prime of her life to pursue a career in psychology, at the height of her career when L.A INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT was released. Although officially a country tune, it roared up the pop charts right around the world like a big jumbo taking off from L.A INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, where the big jet engines continue to roar. When i was a kid i was always thinking this song was performed by australian band THE SEEKERS, to me JUDITH DURHAM sounds so uncannily similiar to SUSAN RAYE, but then again maybe i should have cleaned my eyes out with a cotton bud more often (laugh).
