ELVIS PRESLEY WOULD HAVE BEEN DEPORTED OUT OF THE U.S.A HAD HE PERFORMED 'NEW ORLEANS' ON THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW

This was how Elvis Presley was always supposed to be, fresh, vibrant, charismatic and fronting a small rock and roll band, or in this rare instance, a New Orleans R&B jazz band. Not the overweight Las Vegas junkie version of Elvis in the 70`s who was addicted to uppers and downers and was being forced by his power tripper manager Colonel Parker to record and perform gospel and cabaret material, when all he wanted to do was go back to being in a small rock'n'roll band like when he started out in the late 1950`s. This footage of Elvis performing NEW ORLEANS at the KING CREOLE club in 1958 is positively worth gold in terms of rock heritage. This guy was a chick magnet and fair dinkum i'm sure every girl in the audience at KING CREOLE was just squirming with excitement having Elvis sing to them about going down to New Orleans to get the lead out of his jeans. For it's time this was a mighty provocative performance, if he would have tried performing this on the ED SULLIVAN SHOW Ed would have had been deported out of the U.S.A
