TWITTER MESSAGE FROM BRUCE HAWKER COME WITH A NASTY SURPRISE
Just to let everybody know, i have a perfectly legitimate reason for closing down my twitter account - Tim (Timmy) Badrick, which had greatly increased my audience over the past 6 months on Lost Treasures Review. Obviously i wouldn't have closed it down knowing that my readership would be slashed unless i had some very serious security concerns about spyware and viruses. To be perfectly honest, my laptop finally packed it in last week after being infected by some very nasty spyware and/or a virus around a month ago after i clicked on what appeared to be a solicited message on twitter from BRUCE HAWKER, who is an australian political commentator based in the United States. I am not blaming Bruce, what i believe is that a hacker somehow or another worked out a way of hacking into his twitter profile to send me a spyware laced message from his account. I have never opened messages, be they emails or messages on twitter or facebook, from people i dont know or at least am not familiar with. Of course i had no reason to suspect at that stage that a message from BRUCE HAWKER on twitter was in fact a hacker, i clicked on a message which read something to the effect of - THIS WEBSITE IS WRITING NASTY THINGS ABOUT YOU, with an accompanying link. In hindsight i admit i was a bit naive to not think twice before opening the message but i could be forgiven for thinking, seeing it had never happened to me before, that BRUCE HAWKER had sent me a genuine message warning me that i was being defamed by somebody else on the internet. As soon as i clicked on the link in the message, my computer was never quite the same, at first it simply made it perfrom slower, but after a month or so it had totally screwed my computer. I know a percentage of my audience will be lost now that i am off social media, unfortunately i know many people dont know how to look beyond a link on somebody's social media profile and directly log onto their website. But at least i know now that whoever reads Lost Treasures from now on is the real deal.
