BULLS WOULD BE SEEING RED IF SAMMY HAGAR EVER TRIED SINGING THIS AT A RODEO

 

The first time I ever heard of SAMMY HAGAR was back in around 1985 when my school mate played his new album at the time VOA to me. Only a few months later we learned that Hagar joined VAN HALEN, to replace DAVID LEE ROTH. 

Although building a solid fan base in America between the mid 70`s and early 80`s which gave him enough of a following to sell gold records, he was still not in the platinum league, and Hagar was virtually unheard of in Australia until his Van Halen debut on the album 5150. 

I am not quite sure of the origins of it and why he adopted the name, but Hagar of course become known as the Red Rocker. 

I know Hagar always had a thing for red Pontiac transams and most likely any bottle of spirits with a red label on it, but why he decided to make everything red in his life remains a mystery. 

I know one thing, if Hagar would have ever tried performing a concert at a rodeo, he would have had a lot of bulls charging at him. Here's the signature tune off the 1977 album RED.
