TAKE IT TO THE STREETS - BRAND NEW ALBUM BY THE ANGELS
It took a long time to eventuate, and a replacement lead singer to fill the breach, but australian pub rock legends are back with their first studio album of the 21st century TAKE IT TO THE STREETS. The title track and this tune, WAITING FOR THE SUN have re-captured the same unpretentious simplicity of the band's early music, although the new album is not in the same league as FACE TO FACE, DARK ROOM or another one from the definitive era between `80 and `85, it still doesn't sound bad for this band of old farts, with ex-SCREAMING JETS singer DAVE GLEESON filling in for DOC NEESON, who 'officially' quit the band in 2010, even though the band had recorded nothing with Neeson since the 1990`s. Like AC/DC, THE ANGELS owe their grassroots loyal following in Australia to sticking with the same formula year after year, in over 30 years THE ANGELS still haven't recorded a ballad. I dont think the band would be safe in a pub if they ever tried performing a song like I DONT WANT TO MISS A THING or NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.
