AMI WILLIAMSON THE DAUGHTER OF JOHN WILLIAMSON IS ONE HELL OF A GOOD SINGER

AMI WILLIAMSON, the fun loving, witty and chatterbox daughter of australian country folk legend JOHN WILLIAMSON, has got one of the most amazing voices when she belts it out.

When I see and hear her perform, I always think of Australian alternative pop queen MISSY HIGGINS. Ami Williamson is better than Higgins, but she remains in the shadow of her famous rip rip wood chip turn it into paper old man.

Ami and Missy have different styles though, so I shouldn't make too many comparisons. It is a little like comparing chalk and cheese.

Ami Williamson is a trained opera singer whose cheeky sense of humour and tendency to indulge in dirty jokes on stage, all in good fun of course, provides a good dose of comedy as well as some adorable singing.

She often talks her way through songs like Missy Higgins does, but when she wants to, man can she focking sing.

Like Mahalia Barnes, the daughter of Jimmy Barnes who I wrote about a week or so ago, Ami Williamson proves that being the daughter of an Australian music legend doesn't guarantee you superstardom, no matter how good you are or could be.
