CW STONEKING JUNGLE BLUES LIKE HAVING A DINNER PARTY WITH TOM WAITS, VAN MORRISON AND CAPTAIN BEEFHEART

This definitely doesn't sound anything like GIRL, the 80`s UK glam metal band featuring in the previous post. I will go one further and say it doesn't sound like anything else I have ever heard (laugh).

C.W STONEKING is best categorised as being an experimental avante garde blues artist, especially on his 2008 album JUNGLE BLUES.

I have listened to one other album of his, but JUNGLE BLUES to date is the only one I have in my collection.

Backed up by a horn section which either sounds distorted or just woefully out of tune, STONEKING wails away like someone who is as drunk as a skunk and shipwrecked along the coast of West Africa, just the sort of make believe storyline underwriting the lyrical theme and concept of the album.

STONEKING on JUNGLE BLUES sounds like TOM WAITS, VAN MORRISON and CAPTAIN BEEFHEART put together, Waits the most obvious influence.
