ZAC BROWN BAND HAD THEIR CHICKEN FRIED IN THE HOUSE OF BLUES
ZAC BROWN BAND is quite huge in the United States, which i guess is more important than topping the charts in Luxembourg (laugh), but in Australia and New Zealand is relatively unknown. The country/folk group, which has a healthy dose of bluegrass in the mix, is made up of namesake ZAC BROWN on lead guitar and vocals, JOHN DRISKELL HOPKINS on bass and vocals, COY BOWLES on guitar and keyboards, CHRIS FRYAR on drums, JIMMI DE MARTINI on fiddle and vocals, multi-multi instrumentalist CLAY COOK and DANIEL DE LOS REYES on percussion. To date the band has released five albums and topped the US country singles chart on no less than eight occaions, including with the song CHICKEN FRIED featured above, which was in fact the bands very first single ever on their second album HOME GROWN in 2005. CHICKEN FRIED was re-recorded and released specifically for country radio in 2008. The song sounds best performed live, and this performance comes from a show at the HOUSE OF BLUES in New Orleans sometime around 2007 or 2008. Besides CHICKEN FRIED, other classic songs to reach number one on the chart include TOES and HIGHWAY 20 RIDE. The albums HOME GROWN and the latest release, UNCAGED, have earned the most accolades from music critics, but i am sure fans might have a diffrent opinion as to what the band's best and worst albums are. CHICKEN FRIED is Zac Brown's signature song, despite the band's most recent material giving it a run for its money. This video has had nearly 4 million views, ZAC BROWN is not a lost treasure in america but i thought i would put in a world wide plug for his authentic american roots brand of music.
