LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM 'DOWN ON RODEO' - LIVE IN MILWAUKEE
LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM is one of my favourite 'acoustic' guitarists, the Fleetwood Mac star guitarist made a live artform out of reinterpreting the band's 'electric' 70`s material during and after the band's late 90`s word tour in support of the album THE DANCE. Buckingham hadn't released a solo studio album since OUT OF THE CRADLE in 1992 when the highly experimental UNDER THE SKIN set emerged in 2006, although his solo albums were always an amicable break from FLEETWOOD MAC and in no way eluding to the band breaking up, 14 years was still a long time between drinks for any hardcore Buckingham fan who would die to hear him in his most experimental mode. UNDER THE SKIN is honestly not one of my favourite albums from Buckingham, it is extremely self indulgent and melodic hooks are all but non-existant. In comparsion to his 80`s solo albums LAW AND ORDER and GO INSANE this one was only ever destined to attain minority commercial appeal. SHOW YOU HOW and DOWN ON RODEO were two singles released off the album and are argubaly the most 'conventional' sounding tunes of the eleven. This live performance of DOWN ON RODEO in Milwaukee during 2006 would have been great if you were in the audience, but unfortunately the quality of the You Tube vid isn't too flash. However, if you are a Buckingham fan, i am sure you will just love seeing him perform DOWN ON RODEO.
