COMPULSORY HERO BY 1927 THE PERFECT SOUNDTRACK TO END THE WAR IN AFGHANISTAN

I may have already blogged something about this song, or more likely, it might have got a brief mention in one of my long lost Six Pack of Rockers blogs, which pre-dated Lost Treasures Review and were largely the inspiration for me to start up a stand alone music website. I think i got to Volume number six and gave up because no one was reading them (laugh). My readsership over the past 12 to 18 months has improved markedly, but i am still perplexed and bemused by the lack of comments that my Lost Treasures blogs generate. Maybe one day things will change there but i'm not counting on it anymore. The reason why i am writing this is because somebody asked me to write a blog on my favourite australian rock song, and it was a toss up between EAGLE ROCK by DADDY COOL, RISING SUN by COLD CHISEL and COMPULSORY HERO by 1927. I could have gone with any one of them, all three are great rock songs, very diffrent from one another, but songwriting wise, COMPULSORY HERO has a poignancy about it that is especially relevant in the post September 11 era with all the wars that are going on in the world at present, like in Afghanistan. COMPULSORY HERO is a very powerful song that sends a strong message about mandatory conscription in the armed forces and the futility of war. Personally, i oppose war full stop, war has never solved anything on earth since Adam and Eve walked in the Garden of Eden, and it never will. I am not too sure what movie is featured as part of this download of the song, i couldn't download the official video on copyright grounds. The song comes off the sophisticated AOR like australian album ISH... , the debut album for 1927 released in 1988.
