PRIEST TIM FINN DELIVERS A KIWI POP ROCK SERMON

This tune was actually quite a radio regular back in the 80`s, someone asked me to write about some New Zealand music, and i thought to myself just now - i dont know any half decent kiwi music (laugh).

After i gave it some more thought, i knew it would have to be one of the Finn brothers, Neil or Tim, who for my american readers were the two key members of the australiasian band SPLIT ENZ in the late 70`s and early 80`s.

After the band split, Neil would go on to form CROWDED HOUSE with the intermittent and sporadic involvement of Tim, who was only officially a member of the band for one album.

Tim's first solo outing was actually recorded while SPLIT ENZ were still together, the album is called ESCAPADE, it actually sold quite well in the US and threw up two hit singles - FRACTION TOO MUCH FRICTION and the one on the video here, MADE MY DAY, which i like just a wee bit more.

That's it with kiwi music for me (laugh). Great pop song, but like a couple of comments suggest, pity about the tacky music clip that comes with it. Finn portrays a catholic priest in it, the imagery doesn't in any way correlate to the message in the song, to me he should have used bikini girls showing some titty as a backdrop and not a church.
