RICHARD PAGE PERFORMS 'KYRIE' UNPLUGGED
This to me is just the most intimate and warm acoustic interpretation of a rock song I have ever heard. What's more the acoustics of the small venue where this performance was recorded is evidently nothing short of perfect.
RICHARD PAGE, bass guitarist and lead singer of the 80`s american soft metal/AOR band MR. MISTER, put a whole diffrent spin on the 1985 synthesiser laden mega-hit KYRIE with this unplugged one man performance in 2011.
With just himself and his acoustic guitar, Page succeeded in turning an 80`s stadium rock anthem into something he'd sing to his family around a campfire, it sounds nothing like Kyrie '85, and to be honest hearing the song played in such a stripped down manner brings the lyrics of KYRIE to life for the first time, because Page's singing here is not drowned out by his band of yesteryear.
This is the best unplugged version of a rock song I have ever heard, even better than the great unplugged recordings of Eric Clapton and Nirvana in the early 90`s, ones which i really dig as well.
