CHICKENFOOT PAY HOMAGE TO JIMI HENDRIX LIVE IN CABO

My good mate Vincey from Logan City is an old rocker from way back, he plays bass guitar for a bit of fun and he actually once played in band back in the 70`s. I know he loves the progressive rock of RUSH to bits and MICHAEL ANTHONY, the one time bass guitarist in Van Halen and now playing the same in US supergroup CHICKENFOOT, who just last year done a Travelling Wilbury's and released a second album under the title of 3. It's seems there's every chance in twenty years from now when Satriani and Hagar finally get too old to rock that Chickenfoot fans will be treated to a demos or outtakes album which in reality will be the missing prequel between the two Chickenfoot albums already released. Something for me to look forward to when i'm in my late 50`s (laugh). Anyhow, Vincey is a massive fan of Anthony and the very dense and rich textures he muscles up on bass, and i have to say myself, without being a musician or a bass guitar expert, that Anthony is right up there in the same league as John Paul Jones or Paul McCartney in his ability to transfer his live expertise onto reel. CHICKENFOOT are a fantastic retro blues rock band, if i had to name my three favourite rock bands of the past decade they would be CHICKENFOOT, NICKELBACK and Australia's very own retro rock masters WOLFMOTHER, a band that's just being held together by the eccentric but wonderfully talented singer/guitarist ANDREW STOCKDALE. Between the three bands there is so much classically styled no nonsense ballsy hard rock on offer. Following on from my last article on NICKELBACK and their ferocious live performance of ZZ Top's SHARP DRESSED MAN, and with a bit of egging on from Vince who made a suggestion on Twitter that i check it out, here is CHICKENFOOT performing a live cover of Jimi Hendrix's timeless classic FOXY LADY. In contrast to Nickelback's stadium sized audience, Chickenfoot perform this classic cover in front of a small club audience in Sammy Hagar's regular haunt down in Cabo on the Baja peninsula.
