DEAD EMBRYONIC CELLS BY SEPULTURA THE HEAVIEST SONG EVER RECORDED?
One of my readers sent me an email and gave me a challenge, to write an article on what i regard as the 'heaviest' song ever recorded. Obviously judging by their love of death metal and extreme euro metal this person may likely have a diffrent opinion to me on which song gets the gong for being the most ear splintering tune in the history of music but the brutal thrash metal workout from brazilian band SEPULTURA called DEAD EMBRYONIC CELLS, off their Andy Wallace produced 1991 album ALIVE, is to me the heaviest metal song i have ever heard in my lifetime. I am not a thrash metal fan whatsoever, my love affair with this brand of music may have briefly extended to the commercial sounding Metallica 'black' album in 1991 for a while back in that era, but all in all, i always preferred listening to Chris Rea than Sepultura. But after going through a few tunes from what is regarded to be the ten most heaviest metal bands of all time, my honest and objective opinion is that Sepultura is consistently the most brutal one of them all, even heavier than a couple of death metal bands considered to be even more ferocious than this south american outfit. After i had established that i sampled the beginning of around eight common Sepultura songs, and DEAD EMBRYONIC CELLS to me is the heaviest Sepultura song. You tell me, is it truly the heaviest song of them all?
