PINK FINKS A ROUGH AS GUTS GARAGE BAND BEGINNING FOR A TEENAGE ROSS WILSON
As far as obscurity goes, I had to dig deep into the sub-conscious vault to think of this one, once I thought of it i knew I had to write something about it.
If you are not a Ross Wilson or Daddy Cool fan, you probably would've never heard him and his teenage garage band PINK FINKS performing their amateurish but playful cover version of LOUIE LOUIE, which was recorded in Melbourne in 1965.
Although Daddy Cool were more inspired by american rock'n'roll/ doowop than 60`s english rock, Wilson & Ross Hannaford, who'd become his bandmate in Daddy Cool, sound more like the Dave Clark Five with this rudimentary recording.
Ross and Ross were a couple of daredevil and rebellious teenagers who wanted to have fun. Nearly 50 years later Wilson still performs it.
