BUDGIE WERE THE WELSH POWERHOUSE OF GUITAR RIFFS
This song got a mention in one of my Six Pack of Rocker blogs, but 'bout time i thought that i made it the subject of a stand alone blog. BUDGIE were a unique Welsh band of the 1970`s and early 80`s, by the time the 1980`s come around their simple and rudimentary punctuated funk based hard rock was made to look very tame alongside the thrash metal bands who cite the band as a huge influence, namely METALLICA. The three members of BUDGIE always claimed that their raw, stripped down riff dominated rock, dominated by medieval themes, was only ever funky rock'n'roll, and that any metal nuances within the band's sound was purely unintentional. Totally lacking ambition, BUDGIE would never build on their solid and loyal fan base in their native Wales and take it to an international level. I CANT SEE MY FEELINGS is as basic and no-frills as it gets, very much like BARRACUDA by Heart, a riff fest which passes as rock or metal. Unlike Metallica you wont need ear plugs.
