TIM'S TOP 20 PARTY ROCK SONGS : TRACK 12 - ONE SUMMER by DARYL BRAITHWAITE

Being an aussie i really wanted to include a couple of aussie songs in my Top 20 Party Rock Songs collection, trouble is two of my favourite party anthems from australia are more pop orienated, but hell, who really cares, obviously the two to three hundred people who read Badrick Unadulterated 2 every day and dont ever comment wont care either (laugh). ONE SUMMER by DARYL BRAITHWAITE is as much pop and reggae influenced as it is rock, no not rastafarian reggae like BOB MARLEY, more like UB40 good time style. ONE SUMMER comes from Braithwaite's first comeback album in the late 80's titled EDGE, which was released in 1988. Most of the tracks off EDGE are more in the polished melodic pop rock category, but ONE SUMMER is acoustic and back to basics, and even sees the normal vocals only Braithwaite plucking a guitar. I have always pictured this song as being the perfect song for a pool party.
