Even though i cant swim and i wouldn't even know how to put a pair of flippers on, let alone go deep sea diving, i have always had a keen interest in underwater photography and video footage of sea creatures, been that way since i saw DARYL HANNAH in SPLASH around 1985 (laugh). Only kidding, but truly i love marine life expect for slimy octopusses and jellyfish, and the Emmy Award winning american TV program JONATHON BIRD'S BLUE WORLD takes you to some of the most fascinating underwater locations on the face of the earth. Bird is not only a world class marine cinematographer but he is also the producer of his namesake program, i haven't even had a chance yet to see if the program is screened on australian pay TV on a documentary channel but i have seen You Tube snippets, and i seriously think JONATHON BIRD'S BLUE WORLD should be picked up by one of the commercial free to air networks in Australia. Great half hour documentary series which is backed up by a well presented and regularly updated multimedia website complete with webisodes and articles, a link to which i have posted above. The program is a household name in america now but for the sake of my australian readers and elsewhere i wanted to give Jonathon Bird a big rap which his program deserves.
