STEVE VIZARD FITS THE PROJECT BILL BETTER THAN STEVE PRICE

I can be a bit of a stirrer, and i am bound to cause a bit of a bunfight between THE PROJECT regular panelist STEVE PRICE and somebody who hasn't been seen on the high rating Channel 10 program for quite some time - comedian, radio personality and writer STEVE VIZARD by writing this.

Fact is Price is a stick in the mud ultra right wing zealot who increasingly seems to be out of place and awkward next to the gorgeous and effervescent CARRIE BICKMORE and the two comedians sitting at the other end of the desk, which is normally CHARLIE PICKERING and DAVE HUGHES.

Vizard is one of my favourite media personalities, he looks so much like my ex brother-in-law Daryl it's uncanny. That's not why i like him, i like him because he is one of the funniest blokes you will ever get on a good night, his one line humour is effortless and unpretentious, unlike many other younger comedians.

Price is a decent bloke with good morals, dont get me wrong, but to me he never fitted the mould on THE PROJECT, in comparison to the lefty and goofy Pickering he is too serious and old fashioned for such a progressive TV show that caters predominantly for a centre-left Gen Y audience.

Maybe the wisdom to install Price by THE PROJECT producers was a notion to put a right winger in the company of left wingers to balance the show's political message, but to me having Price there is only succeeding in making Carrie Bickmore feel uncomfortable and stilted and killing a lot of Hughesy's jokes virtually before they leave his mouth. Unlike Price, Vizard never used THE PROJECT to project any partisan agendas or dogma, and i would sooner watch THE PROJECT with him sitting in Price's chair.
