ENTER THE CRAZY WORLD OF THE SCORPIONS
Short and sweet, but i thought i had better write a blog after the last one where you can actually hear the lyrics (laugh). Veteran german soft metal band THE SCORPIONS aren't death metal, and you can usually hear what lead singer KLAUS MEINE is singing. THE SCORPIONS are true metal survivors, after being formed way back in 1965 in blues rock proto-metal form by RUDOLPH SCHENKER, the only constant member of the band from the beginning. The band courted much controversy and was banned from many music shops following the release of the 1976 album VIRGIN KILLER, no guessing why, and only recovered and regained commercial momentum with the more commercially directed album LOVEDRIVE in 1979. SAVAGE AMUSEMENT in 1988 is considered to be the best of the band's 80`s albums, but the band struck worldwide superstardom that extended far beyond Europe with the 1990 album CRAZY WORLD. Of course you know the song WIND OF CHANGE, a classic rock song that chronicles the destruction of the Berlin Wall, and the ballad SEND ME AN ANGEL. The title song is a very underated piece of soft metal, even if slightly repetitive it has to rate as being one of Rudolph Schenker's best guitar riffs of all time.
