GEORGE MICHAEL WANTED TO BE A GOOD FATHER FIGURE

George Michael has never quite recovered and rejuvinated his career ever since the infamous toilet incident in a Beverley Hills park in early 1998, when he was caught performinng a lewd act with another male person, alledgedly a BJ, by an undercover police officer and subsequently fined $500. Judging by this form, perhaps George Michael should have played the part of 'Mahoney' in the 80`s movie POLICE ACADEMY instead of STEVE GUTTENBERG in the scene where Mahoney and a female co-star are hiding inside a podium where the police chief is making a speech (laugh). I really am terrible at making gay jokes you know. Fair dinkum, gay or not, George Michael on occasions could sing spectacularly, beautifully sterophonic voice, and someone did email me and asked me what my favourite early 90' song is. Well i liked heaps of songs from that era from diffrent bands and artists - loved the BLACK CROWES debut album SHAKE YOUR MONEYMAKER, which they never bettered, WAKING UP THE NEIGHBOURS by BRYAN ADAMS was another one of my fav early 90`s record, but to just pluck a stand alone song out of thin air from that era that i love i always would nominate FATHER FIGURE by GEORGE MICHAEL, a wonderfully emotive, textured and atmospheric ballad which articulates one man's perception of what a father should be to their child from a gay man's perspective. In a way, this song was George Michael's way of exorcising the demons of his own muddled sexuality and accepting the hardcore reality that he was gay.
