DAVID KOCH AND SUNRISE PRODUCERS ENGAGED IN A RIVAL MEDIA WITCHHUNT AGAINST YUMI STYNES

There was such a commotion in the Australian media in the past week about the tongue in cheek albeit misguided comments made by The Circle host Yumi Stynes on the Ten Network, along with what guest host George Negus was reported to have said about Victoria Cross recipient Ben Roberts-Smith.

I happened to be watching The Circle the day after this took place, I witnessed Stynes' apology on-air, as far as I am concerned she made a sincere apology, acknowledged she has received some angry emails for what she and George Negus said to Roberts-Smith in the heat of the moment as well as also acknowledging she might have offended some viewers who chose not to email her or contact the TV station to complain.

In the meantime, Roberts-Smith has accepted Stynes' apology without question. Why then did the compulsively tabloid gossip peddling host of Channel 7's Sunrise, David Koch, feel it necessary to line up a panel of three female media identities three days after the event to have another go at taking Yumi Stynes down for stuffing up a bit just once on The Circle.

This "war hero" had gotten over it two days before this, accepted the apology in good faith, yet Koch and the producers of Sunrise saw fit to rattle a cage which clearly didn't need to be.

The vigilante response from the rival media was a lot worse than Roberts-Smith having the piss taken out of him a bit about his level of intelligence and sexual prowess. David Koch's shit stinks just as much.
