SUPER MOSQUE PARANOIA GRIPS THE SOUTHSIDE OF BRISBANE
Muslim extremists have done a great job of sterotyping all muslims, good and bad, whether they be Sunni, Shite or any other ideological offshoot of islam.
The prophet Mohammed is said to have been an imperialist warrior, and as we all know the march of islam into every corner of the globe continues unabated, all but the most moderate of muslims are taught, some might say brainwashed, to believe their belief system and their's alone is acceptable, that christianity is merely a history lesson of ancient Israel, and that it's their destiny to help Mohammed smother christianity.
Having dealt one on one with members of Logan City's muslim community when i worked for the Logan council some years ago at Springwood community centre, i could say with genuine conviction that i feel that not all muslims are bigoted and intolerant of christian people, at least the sheepies that is who keep to themselves and dont hold positions of leadership within their congregation.
There are thousands of australian muslims living in outer urban areas of our capital cities who quietly and inconspicuously worship at their mosque and who are decent, law abiding citizens.
The problem i have with islam in Australia is the groupie and unassimalating lifestyle which is demanded of the average muslim by their leaders, in other words, they aren't allowed to blend in and be true blue australian like everybody else.
On the southside of Brisbane and around Logan City, there are already quite a number of mosques in the area, just like a lot of churches might i add, there's even a buddhist temple at the end of Priestdale Road in the suburb of Rochedale South. The suburbs of Kuraby and Runcorn have become two of the most densely populated muslim strongholds in Queensland.
Currently, there is a development application before Brisbane City Council to build a super mosque, the biggest mosque establishment ever built in Queensland, on Underwood Road in the suburb of Eight Mile Plains.
There are some very valid arguments being raised against this proposed development by locals, to do with traffic congestion and moreso traffic assessbility issues.
The mosque would neccessitate that traffic lights be installed along a presently free flowing road which already carries an increasing amount of traffic, mainly due to a shopping centre development on the corner of Underwood and Warrigal Road.
These are the issues which have to be weighed up against the proposed mosque, but it's already evident that white man's intolerance of the supposedly invading muslims is already coming to the boil, in other words, you can tell that a few of the locals on TV dont want the development because it's a mosque, if a massive church was being proposed, it would be a diffrent story.
