DAVE HOLE BLOWS HIS SHORT FUSE BLUES WICK ON STAGE IN SWITZERLAND

I love the blues and i love to give aussie musicians a plug when i can. Veteran bluesman Dave Hole from Western Australia is one of my favourite aussie blues guitarist, while not as focused in sound and grainy in the vocal department as the many black Chicago blues legends who have obviously inspired Hole for the whole of his pub circuit career, for an aussie he still is very convincing. Hole is fairly well pigeon holed in the same class as Britain's John Bonamassa, i actually rate this veteran of the aussie pub circuit a more convincing practitioner of blues rock than the much more commercially successful Bonamassa. Hole has been around for four decades now, he deserves just as much fanfare for his blistering blues guitar playing as other australian blues and blues rock artists like Phil Manning of CHAIN fame and Jimi Hocking of SCREAMING JETS fame, although i must say both of these guys have the edge on Hole in the tone department, even if Hole has the wood on them in the pure live aggression stakes. This performance of SHORT FUSE BLUES was taped at a Switzerland gig, Hole has had some good success in Europe but he never quited cracked the jackpot in the US. This song serves as a perfect sampler for most of Hole's very underated australian pub rock stoked Chicago styled electric blues.
