LABOR/KAP ALLIANCE OR ANOTHER STATE ELECTION - IT'S BLACK AND WHITE!

Should the now exposed 'wife basher' and rogue MP Billy Gordon not resign and vacate the seat of Cook and allow a by-election to take place, the simple fact of the matter is that there has to be another state wide general election. The fact is if it does not happen every time the Labor side tries to pass any legislation it will be completely 'up in the air' which way the now disemboweled Gordon votes.

Unless the two Katter's Australian Party MP's surprise everyone, probably even themselves, and agree to form an alliance with Labor to make sure that premier Annastacia Palaszczuk gets that magic number of 45 raised hands she needs in parliament to govern and pass legislation, it will be chaotic and a shambles.

However, that would seem to be increasingly unlikely given that Palaszczuk and various left faction aligned Labor heavies are making it abundantly known that Labor wont consider budging & compromising to meet KAP's demands on key issues which  KAP is standing firm on - in particular, KAP's advocating for the creation of a regional industry development bank in QLD.

Obviously treasurer Curtis Pitt is in no rush to get back to Robbie Katter on that issue, so that can only mean one thing - he doesn't like the idea at all.

The LNP holds 42 seats so even assuming the 2 KAP MP's formalize an alliance with Springborg, without the 'politically toxic' vote of Billy Gordon, which no way in the world will Lawrence Springborg accept in a million years now one would imagine, the only other hypothetical is that Peter Wellington could tear up his agreement with Labor and jump ship to give the LNP 45 on the floor of parliament.

Question is though, would Springborg now deal with Wellington and accept his vote for the right to govern, given the Speaker's 'very questionable' conduct surrounding the Billy Gordon affair? If Springborg has the ethics he claims Palaszczuk does not have I don't see how he could. The best option for Queensland to break this most crippling political stalemate is for there to be another election.
