BRISBANE CAN DO WITH SOME SUBDIVISION - JUST NOT AT UPPER KEDRON

Queensland needs development to keep the economy moving and for the Palaszczuk Government to be able to come good on its election pledge to create heaps of jobs. Sustainable and environmentally responsible development that is, not the opposite.

You shouldn't have to join the Greens party to come to the logical conclusion that development must not come at the expense of what prime native bushland remains in the Brisbane metropolitan region.

There is still a lot of sub-dividable land on the outskirts of Brisbane which is not treed, an example being the old farms in the Rochedale area, where residential subdivision has already commenced. Meaning it's nothing short of myopic town planning to allow the Cedar Woods development at Upper Kedron to proceed.

Yes it's true, Labor cant come good on its jobs pledge if premier Palaszczuk and Jackie Trad put a stop to a number of key projects in Queensland just to appease a few green necks on Trad's left side of the fence who would rather see Queensland shut down than allow development of any kind.

Nonetheless, I am with Kate Jones, the member for Ashgrove, 100% in regards to the Cedar Woods development because it would be monumentally out of place and would result in the destruction of bushland right next door to the Brisbane Forest Park. I hope the Palaszczuk Government 'overrules' the Brisbane City Council and knocks 'this' development on the head.
