THOMAS IAN NICHOLAS BAND ARRIVED WITHOUT WARNING

Been tossing up tonight whether to continue on with my party rock series or go the other way and write a blog about another band which sprung up in my twitter followers list, in the end i decided to choose the latter because my creativity just ain't flowing enough tonight to be able to delve into my 80`s conscience enough to come up with a party rock epic. I only finished playing tennis at 10 o'clock tonight in Toogoolawah and i am feeling so lazy right now, i'm 38 and i'm starting to say the classic DANNY GLOVER quote 'i'm getting too old for this shit' a lot more these days (laugh). Imagine what i'll be saying if or when i do get old. THOMAS IAN NICHOLAS BAND, fronted obviously by THOMAS IAN NICHOLAS, the actor who played KEVIN MYERS in the AMERICAN PIE film series and HENRY ROWANGARTNER in ROOKIE OF THE YEAR, remains an underachieving but promising post alternative flavoured rock band, essentially a band with the pop sensibilities of MATCHBOX TWENTY with a grungy hard coating which is faintly reminisent of COLLECTIVE SOUL's more experimental output, not that vocalist/guitarist Nicholas' voice sounds like ROB THOMAS or ED ROLAND. If someone asked me to go out on a limb and nominate an obscure band that THOMAS IAN NICHOLAS BAND sounds like on the title track off the debut 2008 album WITHOUT WARNING i'd probaly say something off the early 90`s KINGS X album DOGMAN, i wonder if THOMAS IAN NICHOLAS has even heard of that band and album (laugh). The band has released three albums, WITHOUT WARNING (2008), HEROS ARE HUMAN (2010) and a self titled EP mid way through last year, haven't had a chance to sample many of the band's tunes but so far my favourite is WITHOUT WARNING, it's a bit edgy and experimental, a bit out there, just like where the video clip appears to be shot, which looks like Death Valley or a salt pan in Nevada or Utah. Considering THOMAS IAN NICHOLAS is Las Vegas born and bred which is just down the road from there that seems like a good possibility.
