QUEENSRYCHE SIGNATURE TUNE A MIGHTY FINE PIECE OF PROGRESSIVE HEAVY METAL

 

This is going to be an express blog readers, still without a personal computer and out of the goodness of my heart I decided to invest a few bucks down at the shopping centre computer at Springwood so you don't hunger any longer for a new post (laugh). 

I would imagine it'll be a few days before I have any hope of being near or getting a new 'second hand' computer. 

Very quickly, when I was in my 20's, I went through a stage where I really dug l progressive metal sort of music, and two of my favourite albums around that period was KINGS X's 1988 album OUT OF THE SILENT PLANET and the 1990 QUEENSRYCHE release EMPIRE. 

Around the end of the 90`s I discovered the blues so to speak and my interest in prog head banging stuff subsided, but I still rate both those albums as great even though my music tastes have changed with age.

QUEENSRYCHE, a Canadian metal band which draw on a variety of influences which included METALLICA, JUDAS PRIEST and fellow veteran canadian prog rockers RUSH, started out way back in 1984 I believe, might have been 1983, doesn't really matter, with a self titled album which included this namesake speed metal flavoured stoner rocker called QUEEN OF THE REICH. 

Their breakthrough album EMPIRE, which included the band's only world wide hit SILENT LUCIDITY might be their best overall album but I still rate their first single ever as being up there with the best of progressive heavy metal.
