LONESOME TEARS REMAINS THE GREATEST B-SIDE IN THE HISTORY OF ROCK`N`ROLL

Typical sunday night on the internet tonight, heck it was stressful downloading this You-Tube link, it is the worst night of them all
for slow connection and outages, man it is something else tonight. 

My mum reckons the internet is mostly evil and right now I think I agree with her.(laugh). I actually agree with my mum that more bad comes out of the internet than good, that is all I will say. 

Anyhow, I finally managed to pull it off, the classic B-side of Buddy Holly`s famous A-side single IT`s SO EASY, the barber quartet harmony backed LONESOME TEARS, is the guest of honour on Lost Treasures tonight. 

I have written a few different blogs on Buddy Holly to date, but none have featured a video clip as yet. I got to be honest, I am mainly writing this for my big brother Jamie, who is probably an even bigger fan of Holly than me, which says something about the respect my bro has for him. 

I have to say that I think LONESOME TEARS isn`t just the best B-side off any Holly record, it is the greatest B-side in the history of rock`n`roll. 

As far as I am aware, the two songs, IT`S SO EASY and LONESOME TEARS, are the only two songs that Buddy recorded while he was
alive with Tommy Allsup, probably the only guitarist who ever come close to replicating Buddy and capturing the same classic Texmex rock tone. 

He actually was the one who added the lead guitar parts to the Apartment Tapes demos after Holly`s death to make them complete. 

Have a listen to LOVE`S MADE A FOOL OUT OF YOU to hear first hand just what a good job Allsup made of re-capturing a lot of the Buddy magic after his tragic death.

But more than anything, savour this forgotten about B-side which never appears on any Holly greatest hits collections.

It will always remain the heaviest song Buddy ever recorded, maybe it was the first attempt at heavy metal.

To me, it just pips the more celebrated B-
side of Buddy`s called NOT FADE AWAY,
although only by an absolute whisker.
