UPDATE ON ALEXANDRIA HALL DIGITAL PROJECTOR BIZZO AND TOOGOOLAWAH SQUASH COURTS
Before any further ado, in regard to my previous post it was brought to my attention after the event that the Progress Association in Toogoolawah has applied for a grant from Jupiters, which i'm assuming is the same company as the casino mob, for the sum of anywhere between $70000 and $80000.
Apparently, $70000 or thereabouts would be enough to buy the new digital projector for Alexandria Hall, but somewhere in the order of $75000 to $80000 would provide the 3D option, meaning movies could be screened there in 3D as well as standard.
The basis of my what i wrote is still correct, should Jupiters knock back the grant application the very next and only port of call to keep movie nights happening in Toogoolawah would be the Somerset Regional Council, and certainly at this stage there's no guarentees. Will keep you posted about any news i hear about it.
Just quickly, i wanted to mention the squash courts in Toogoolawah, it has now been months since they were given a facelift in view of re-opening after years of inactivity, but i haven't heard anything for weeks and weeks about what's happening with them and if the owners have found anyone who wants to lease them or if the owners are going to run the business themselves, or on the contrary, if it has been found to be unfeasible to re-open the courts afterall.
I hope it's not a case of the latter, you can play tennis and golf in the Brisbane Valley, but presently you cant have a game of squash. Let's hope that they do re-open soon whoever is running them.
