Weekend news presenter at Channel 9 Brisbane EVA MILIC was who opened my eyes to the existance of a Brisbane indie influenced pop group named SHEPPARD, saw one of Channel 9's afternoon news updates and SHEPPARD will be featured briefly tonight on the 6pm bulletin and possibly complete with a rendition of the band's quite brilliant tune LET ME DOWN EASY. In case Channel 9 doesn't broadcast the song, or in case you dont watch Channel 9, here is the song on You Tube.
SHEPPARD are a home grown Brisbane band, in the tradition of world conquering acts like SAVAGE GARDEN, THE BEE GEES and POWDERFINGER, but amazingly still cant get a record company to sign them up with a contract.
All I can say is that if ONE DIRECTION, JUSTIN BIEBER and BRUNO MAR can make the big time, then SHEPPARD could hit the stratosphere of superstardom if they are given a fair go and some record executive with half a brain gets a contract drawn up and gets a few signatures.
The artistic axis of the group revolves around co-lead vocalist and pianist GEORGE SHEPPARD, which obviously is an easy explanation for the group's name, along with his two sisters AMY and EMMA, with Amy handling co-lead vocals and Emma on bass.

The Sheppard's went outside the family circle to get the services of the two guitarists JAY BOVINO and MICHAEL BUTLER and drummer DEAN GORDON. Perfect blend of indie, pop, boyband and old fashioned harmonies.
Listening to LET ME DOWN EASY is like listening to a 21st century version of CROSBY STILLS AND NASH, THE EVERLEY BROTHERS or THE BEE GEES with such silky smooth and ear pleasing harmonies.
