ICEHOUSE WERE SIZZLING AS IVA DAVIES DARED TO TOUCH THE FIRE
Okay, I have been either supremely busy lately in my 'other' profession as a 'serious' political and social issue writer on Facebook and here and there on Twitter as well, or I have been just supremely lazy or burnt out by the end of it all each day and night that I just cant be bothered writing music blogs at the moment.
I will get there eventually, for the time being you might just have to put up with wordless postings from me on here, but I will always try and come up with some cranking blues or classic rock like this baby, TOUCH THE FIRE, one of the most sophisticated and hard rock tinged songs that ICEHOUSE ever released.
It is the title track off the band's 1989 album, which was a very worthy follow-up to the band's definitive and best release ever, MAN OF COLOURS, released in 1987. IVA DAVIES was on fire for this track with one his most boisterous vocals ever.David Bowie's influence always shone through on every thing Davies sung.
