As far as pioneering 'chick rock' goes', this very early tune from PAT BENATAR has got to rate as up there with the best there ever was, Benatar early on in her career especially amalgamated the punk tinged dynamics of SUZI QUATRO and the 'girlpower' influence of BLONDIE to create one hell of a great melodic rock sound which during the early 80's was always going to pay excellent commercial dividends. YOU BETTER RUN never made the FM radio playlist in OZ, unlike the more formulaic HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT from 1980, the first of many hits for Benatar in her early 80's glory days. I did have a boy crush on Benatar during puberty LOL.
