RON HOWARD & THE FONZ RE-UNITED IN THE 80's FOR NIGHT SHIFT
Gee whiz it's been a long time since I made any review of a movie on here but then again I am more of a music man. Most of the time if I am tempted to turn into a 'film critic' :-P (laugh) it would be to feature a long forgotten about comedy, and being an 80's man with movies, there were plenty of good ones from that golden era of one line american humour.
NIGHT SHIFT is such a witty and cleverly directed movie, it was to my knowledge RON HOWARD's first notable role as a director, in 1982 it had only been a few years since he was starring as RICHIE CUNNINGHAM in HAPPY DAYS.
Howard's iconic co-star in Happy Days, HENRY WINKLER, who starred as the mercurial ARTHUR FONZARELLI, joined him in NIGHT GAMES in a co-starring role as CHUCK, and MICHAEL KEATON also came along for the ride in what was his first starring role as BILL 'BLAZE' BLAZEJOWSKI, he must have been polish (laugh).
The movie is all centred around Chuck's and Blaze's enterprise and shenanigans working together at a New York City morgue after turning it into a headquarters for Chuck's prostitute neighbor BELINDA, played by SHELLEY LONG of CHEERS fame. These morgue attendants turned accidental pimps provide some big belly laughs.
