PROFESSOR RJ ROSS AND HIS SIGNATURE JAZZ STANDARD
Here is a funky and upbeat jazz lounge song by an artist who is seemingly well respected by his peers and music critics, especially around LA, named PROFESSOR RJ ROSS, with one critic by the name of BOB LEGGETT, yeah I know him (laugh) paying the ultimate compliment to this song TO BE WITH YOU AGAIN by calling it a defining jazz standard or to that effect. I am not sure if I like it yet, maybe it will grow on me, only reason why I even know the dude is because he added me on Twitter and he has a link going straight from his Twitter page to his You Tube collection.
With three drummers down as having recorded the track I was kind of expecting something which sounds more like BONZO'S MONTREUX than what it does (laugh), with some reggae-fied CHIC like funk riffs from guitarist JERRY STUCKER with the keys played by RJ ROSS himself, TO BE WITH YOU AGAIN is fairly formulaic like house jazz but rich in complexity and quite innovative, a bit like BOBBY MCFERRIN in that respect. RJ ROSS has a heap of other tunes on the tube that I haven't listened to but this one has by far the most lookers, so I am figuring that it must be up there with his very best output.
