DIXIE FRIED JAMES LUTHER DICKINSON FROM 1972
Reminds me so much of CAPTAIN BEEFHEART hearing JAMES LUTHER DICKINSON and the song O HOW SHE DANCES off his 1972 album DIXIE FRIED, probably because it's such an oddball and eccentric amalgam of undefinable dischord, best described as African jungle blues combined with the acid blues rock featuring on Beefheart's 1967 album SAFE AS MILK as well as some TOM WAITS thrown in, after he's smoked a bit of M. I had better be careful, Marlboro might sue me now for breaching copyright (laugh). This song does grow on you, Dickinson might can sing but he talks and rambles his way through the first 1 minute and 20 seconds of it, but he manages to get some vocal going for the rest. Most inspiring aspect of O HOW SHE DANCES is the avante garde percussion on offer.
