WINCHESTER REBELS ARE POWERED BY BIG BAD BARRY CARTER

WINCHESTER REBELS are one of the hottest rock acts coming out of america at the moment, as close as one gets to classic no-nonsense hard rock with riff laden guitar melodies in the 21st century. In particular, i really admire the band's kickbutt drummer, BARRY CARTER, who i would put in the same league as say DENNY CARMASSI from MONTROSE and HEART fame and ALEX VAN HALEN. Carter is one of those rare drummers who is able to make the listener think that what he's drumming is coming from his head, not just his arms, maybe he's not quite in the same league just yet but that gift he has reminds me so much of the late, great JOHN BONHAM out of LED ZEPPELIN. Carter has the attitude of DAVE GROHL but the technical aptitude on drums as NEIL PEART, but he takes after Bonham and MICK FLEETWOOD in so many ways by being what you might call a very independent and autonomous drummer, who like both of them is able to go it alone without needed a rhythm and bass guitarist to lead him by the hand. The outcome of that is that Winchester Rebels have re-invented at least to a great degree the multi-layered and larger than life blues based rock which Led Zeppelin and the early FLEETWOOD MAC recorded around the tale end of the 60's. The only rock drummer in 2013 who even comes close to BARRY CARTER is DANIEL ADAIR from NICKELBACK, one band WINCHESTER REBELS no doubt want to emulate in terms of commercial success in the not so distant future.
