TIM'S TOP 20 PARTY ROCK SONGS : TRACK 7 - LIFE IS A HIGHWAY by TOM COCHRANE

TOM COCHRANE is somewhat of a canadian rock legend, not quite as coveted as The Beatles or Led Zeppelin (yes slight exaggeration), but between his solo albums and the albums he made with his band RED RIDER he has made himself a household name in the land of maple syrup and moose. I already have a blog eyed off about RED RIDER, but to fit in with the party rock theme, i couldn't possibly go past Cochrane's big hit single in 1991 off his first post RED RIDER solo album, MAD MAD WORLD, called LIFE IS A HIGHWAY. Although Cochrane's follow-up albums didn't come close to matching the international commercial success of MAD MAD WORLD, the Ontario native remains a highly popular live act, having reformed a quasi RED RIDER in the early 2000's after re-uniting with two of his former bandmates but continuing to trade under his own name. LIFE IS A HIGHWAY doesn't need to be disected by me, and given a dismemberment, it's just another great party rock song that gets me pumping.
