BLUE HAZE COVERS ALBUM MADE A GOOD FIST OF CLASSIC JIMI HENDRIX TUNES
I don't want to earn the wrath of all the Jimi Hendrix fans out there. Yes, Jimi was a revolutionary on guitar, he created new possibilities and new sounds, his huge hands and fingers allowing him to basically play chords previously thought to be impossible
to do.
to do.
I admire so much of Jimi's music, more so the instrumental stuff actually, because I don't think he was ever really convincing with his singing and most of the time I think singing was an unnecessary distraction which muddled the production and clarity of many of his famous songs.
Since the 1990`s I have had a CD of Hendrix covers in my collection by obscure american blues artists that's called BLUE HAZE, SONGS OF JIMI HENDRIX.
I accidentally lost the original and I never replaced it, been meaning to re-purchase it
on vinyl.
But I know it was released in the 1990`s and there was also another album that was released at the same time as it in a bit more of a rock mould, not blues mould.
They were apparently released together, I have never heard the other album. Just a damn good album all round.
