CHILD SAFETY CONTINUES TO ALLOW BABIES AND CHILDREN TO DIE IN QUEENSLAND

How many more babies and toddlers in Queensland have to senselessly die on Child Safety's watch before bureaucrats themselves start facing prosecution for what is essentially downright criminal negligence?

The latest victim to become yet another statistic on Child Safety's shame file, a 6 month old who died in Rockhampton hospital recently, didn't need to die, and almost assuredly wouldn't have died if it weren't for Child Safety's "investigation backlog".

Putting it more accurately this tragedy is just another glaring example of "systematic bureaucratic bungling" on the part of Child Safety.

The question must be asked - if Child Safety, as Minister Shannon Fentiman has confirmed, was made privy to particularly grave concerns about this boy's wellbeing in January, why wasn't this case jettisoned up the list for Child Safety's urgent attention?

Why did it remain buried in Child Safety's backlog? From that day in January onwards, this little baby boy was condemned, condemned by people who could have come to his rescue.
