BRAD PAISLEY'S SONG FOR ALL THE STEPDADS IN THE WORLD

Brad Paisley is the typical american country musician who plays to the rules of the Nashville establishment, pleasant as could be, great songwriter, but you just wish sometimes he would show us his WAYLON JENNINGS side and be a Nashville outlaw, like recording a cover of COPPERHEAD ROAD.

Paisley probaly has more in common with CONWAY TWITTY and CHARLIE PRIDE, but here and there, he does let loose with some rhythm and blues that eludes to but has never eventuated to date in a permanent crossover into country rock. I am not a fan of american country all that much, but Paisley is one of my more favourite ones if i had to choose.

Actually, even though my top 5 of his songs are more untempo, his poignant down tempo ballad HE DIDN'T HAVE TO BE is a beautiful song that resonates the role of a loving stepfather who takes on a role he didn't have to but does with a willing and compassionate heart.

My mum doesn't like american country but she loves this song, just crossed my mind here tonight and i just run with my thought. Have heard his 2013 album WHEELHOUSE - great listen, and out of all his albums definitely one of the more 'rock' influenced from start to finish,  maybe he is about to do what THE EAGLES done in 1976 and become a full blown country rocker. The next album Paisley records will answer that.
