GRAEME CONNORS - TWO GREAT SONGS, ONE GREAT VIDEO
Without a doubt one of the highlights of my 2011 jaunt at the Tamworth Country Music Festival was seeing Graeme Connors perform the song ALL THE MONEY's GONE off his then new album STILL WALKING at the Tamworth Town Hall. Connors brought the house down with this spiteful, satirical and downright offensive vocal assault against globalisation and stockmarket capitalism. Being a passionate opponent of globalisation myself, i can appreciate the political message Connors was serving up with this song, but having a sense of humour as well, i think ALL THE MONEY'S GONE is absolutely hilarious too. Unfortunately i cant find a You Tube clip for this song, i have searched hard and long and i'm damned if i can find it anywhere. So anyway, keep this song in mind, there are three or four fantastic tracks off STILL WALKING, Connors played over half the album at the 2011 Tamworth gig, just a shame i haven't got a video of ALL THE MONEY'S GONE. In it's place, here is a lovely country ballad i stumbled upon by Graeme, i wasn't intending to review it, i wont bother complicating anything by writing 500 words about it, it's called A SACRED PLACE. Loved it from the opening verse, it displays an adorable and complimentary mixture of steel guitar and keyboard with one of the best vocals i've ever heard from Graeme Connors
