AUSTRALIA'S ELIZABETH LORD HAS A VOICE WHICH COULD HAVE CONQUERED THE WORLD

She had the potential to become of the most famous divas Australia ever produced, but the beautiful introspective voice of ELIZABETH LORD has sadly never caught the ear of a record company executive who knows there is such a thing as a good voice and such a thing as an amazing voice. Perhaps a little hamstrung by her self inflicted seating in the comfort zone of folk music, a genre of music which always tends to be lyrically ambiguous and more suited to poorer singers who use folk as a vehicle for expending a political or protest message not demanding a flawless voice, Elizabath Lord is nonetheless desperately unlucky not to have been picked up by a major record company and given the oppurtunity to diversify her style beyond folk and take it in a more commercially friendly contemporary direction. Her husband Leigh James is her long time co-guitarist, and together they have recorded some very pleasant folk music, which is enhanced greatly at times by Lord's mirror finish and crystal clear voice. Just like the late Eva Cassidy from Washington D.C, who i rate as the greatest female singer ever, Elizabeth Lord is capable of turning rather mediocre and nondescript folk music into something special on the back of her magical voice alone.
